MONSOON AND MASALA CHAI
Monsoons have arrived in Delhi this year by mid July and continued till late August. There’s no better sound than the dripping of raindrops after a scorching summer.
When i look back at old days a lot has changed over time, but one thing that remain constant in my daily routine is waking up to cup of homemade chai made by mum, with lots of love.
In fact mom has many version of this chai – chai adraki, chai masala, chai elaichi, chai irani and more. And she always tells me try any of these flavors and it will give you all the warm fuzzies!
I feel monsoons and chai are synonyms. My personal favourite is masala chai and i feel there is nothing more comforting than hands wrapped around a hot cup of chai, with earthy smell and spending many monsoon evenings in solitude.
This post is nostalgic and takes me back to college days when we had enough time to enjoy a cuppa looking at the drizzles:) wish we could go back in time!
