COLLECT MOMENTS NOT THINGS!
We live in an era where we want experiences more than
we want stuff.
While working for top brands I learnt that the thrill of
purchasing things fades very quickly however, the joy and memories of
experiences, from epic adventures to minute encounters, can last a lifetime.
Today, people who spent money on experiences rather than
material items were happier and felt the money was better spent.
Experiences are also what people increasingly use to
define themselves across social channels. Take a spin through your Instagram
and Facebook feeds, and you’re more likely to see a friend’s trip to Australia
or pictures of their baby on the beach in Tulum versus photos of a Vuitton bag
or new pair of Louboutins.
I wonder, in old era you used to impress people with
your car and your house, because that’s what people saw. Today people impress
others by the experiences they are posting on social media.
There is greediness for these unique, intense and
shareable experiences.
And there is also a piece of it which is purer – ‘ I
don’t need the stuff, I want the memory’!
I absolutely agree experiences r for lifetime whereas material things are collectively for making us have a comfortable life.I still cherish each and every moment i spent as a maiden.I can still bring a smile on my face just by going through the memory lane.liked ur article very much
